Painting and Affordable Homeownership: A Perfect Match
At Skagit Habitat for Humanity, we believe that building strong communities starts with strong connections and partnerships. That’s why we’re so grateful for The Speckled Hen Paint Parties! Their support has allowed us to bring people together for fun, creative events while raising funds to build affordable homes in Skagit County. By working together, we’re strengthening local businesses and creating new ways for people to support our mission.
Each Paint ‘n’ Sip event is more than just an evening of creativity, it’s a chance for community members to come together, enjoy local food and drinks, and make a direct impact on affordable homeownership.
Our first Speckled Hen Event
Our first Paint ‘n’ Sip event featured a lively crowd painting colorful tulip fields while sipping on craft brews from Farmstrong Brewing. Everyone’s artwork was truly unique and beautiful.
A Box of Flowers at Skagit Cellars
Next, we gathered at Skagit Cellars, where guests enjoyed local wines while painting a vibrant floral design.
Holiday Gnomes at Sugar Mama Cafe
Most recently, we filled Sugar Mama Cafe with laughter and creativity as participants painted adorable gnome decorations. They turned out perfect for the holiday season!
Why These Partnerships Matter
At first glance, painting a gnome or a field of flowers may not seem connected to affordable housing. But, these events are about more than just art. They bring people together, support local businesses, and raise essential funds for our future construction projects. Sometimes you don’t have to swing a hammer to help build affordable homes, you just need a paintbrush!
Through partnerships like these, we’ve learned that our community’s impact is strongest when we lift each other up. When you support a local business that partners with Skagit Habitat, you’re also supporting affordable homeownership in Skagit County. It’s a win-win for everyone!
