Celebrating Our Incredible Volunteers: A Night of Gratitude
Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating our dedicated Skagit Habitat for Humanity volunteers with an evening of drinks, food, and community. We are beyond grateful for everyone who was able to join us and equally grateful to those who couldn’t make it but continue to contribute to our mission. Every volunteer makes a meaningful impact in the lives of local families, and this event was all about recognizing that impact.
President’s Volunteer Service Award
A special highlight of the night was presenting the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to those who have made extraordinary contributions of time and effort. Established in 2003, this award honors volunteers whose service strengthens communities across the country. Facilitated by AmeriCorps and Points of Light, the PVSA serves as an inspiration for others to take action and make a difference. Learn more about the PVSA here.

Supervisor Spotlights: Words of Thanks
Although the volunteer site supervisors weren’t able to make it to the event, we were able to share their heartwarming words of appreciation and encouragement with our amazing volunteers!
Isaac Woods – Construction Superintendent
It was a new experience working with volunteers at Kendall Court. Everyone was fantastic to work with and made my transition working with Volunteers absolutely wonderful. Everyone showed up when they signed up, everyone stayed on task, everyone was open-minded to new building practices. I had a great time showing volunteers new things. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. Everyone always had a wonderful attitude and obviously enjoyed volunteering. I am really looking forward to working with everyone again on the next project.
Michael Hatcher – Assistant Store Manager
This store would not function nearly as well without each one of our volunteers’ contributions. I am extremely grateful for all of your support and assistance in making our store the coolest Habitat to shop at. Thank you so much
Anna Orr – Warehouse Supervisor
I am amazed by our volunteers, they return day after day, year after year, to do work at the store that is often unseen and under appreciated. They give their time and bring expertise beyond value, without expecting anything in return. They are the best of us, quietly contributing to improve our community and save the planet!
Thank you so much for the work you do, and please know it is so important and so appreciated.
A Special Thanks to Our Community Partners
We were also fortunate to have generous donations for our raffle from local businesses, including Skagit Speedway, elSage, Skagit Valley Food Co-op, and the Concrete Theater. Our guests enjoyed a delicious selection of wines from Pasek Cellars, craft beer from Farmstrong Brewing Co., and freshly brewed coffee from Woods. All along with a mouthwatering Italian dinner catered by IL Granaio.
Thank You, Volunteers!
We are so grateful for the volunteers who are at the heart of what we do at Skagit Habitat for Humanity. Their efforts are what allow us to continue our mission of building homes, community, and hope for local families.
