Thank you, Community Builders Circle!
Last week, Skagit Habitat hosted its annual Community Builders Appreciation Event, showing appreciation for our dedicated corporate and community supporters! This event was the perfect opportunity to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished this year AND celebrate our exciting plans for 2025.
Together, we built 4 more affordable homes in Mount Vernon this year, helping 4 single mothers achieve the stability affordable homeownership brings. Not only did we build homes, but we also completed 2 Critical Repair Projects and are gearing up our third in the next few weeks!
We could not do what we do without our incredible community. Whether it’s discounting building materials or sponsoring our annual Raise the Roof Gala, thank you for supporting Skagit Habitat for Humanity! Your generosity is helping local families achieve affordable homeownership and the endless opportunities it brings.
Congratulations to Marathon, our 2024 Community Builder of the Year!
We especially want to recognize Marathon Petroleum, our 2024 Community Builder of the Year Award recipient! Marathon’s commitment to affordable housing solutions is shown by their participation in build days, to sponsoring our annual fundraising Gala, and granting us funds to support our affordable housing programs.
In fact, funding from Marathon helped launch our Critical Home Repair Program this year! Now, our neighbors, like Denise, can receive an affordable home repair loan. (Click here to learn more about Denise’s repair project.)
Looking to the future, Skagit Habitat is excited to build 11 more permanently affordable homes in 2025, including 3 in La Conner and 8 in Anacortes. Jumping from 1-2 homes built annually, to 4 this year, and 11 next year is no small feat. This is a HUGE accomplishment and something worth celebrating.
Together, we are helping hardworking, local families have a permanently affordable place to call home. We’re not just building homes; we’re building brighter futures. Ones where families aren’t spending more than 50% of their income towards rent. Futures, that instead, focus on building financial stability and generational wealth through affordable homeownership.
Thank you again, Community Builders, for believing in Skagit Habitat’s mission of building homes, community, and hope in Skagit County. It truly takes a village to make our homebuilding possible, and we are so thankful for ours!
